20 July - PWC Montalegre - TASK6 - cancelled

After the drive up to take off and the usual wait, the day was cancelled today due to similar conditions as yesterday, where luckily only one pilot was injured with a broken ankle.
So after a dusty ride there and back again on the wagons, we made alternative plans.

I spent the remainder of the afternoon with some of the french pilots who were looking for some action,  so we all decided to go Karting. Fantastically fast machines and out of the 16 pilots, we organised a championship amongst ourselves, with heats and a prize giving.

After all, we are all competitors and simply racing round a track would not be as fun!
Looking at the the tactics involved, no surprise that these pilots are always at the front. Concentrated, ruthless and always wanting to be in front.

Their risk-taking and ballsy tactics were interesting and thankfully they don't fly like that! As Stephan Drouin obviously took offence at me getting not only the pink Kart but getting ahead in the first corner and straight, slammed into me on the hairpin and overtook on the inside. Foul play! but there were no rules that day.

No broken ribs, but a humdinger of a bruise on my left ribs which I'll be sporting for the rest of the summer. Thanks! ;-)

BBQ evening organised by the competition, with BBQ ribs and steaks, cold meats and salami.
Wine and the Witch's Brew were a plenty and a great evening had by all.
