Pedro Bernardo - 29th June

Leaving Annecy just before 9am in warm sunshine, the  started the 15hr journey towards our Pedro Bernardo near the Gredos, just north west of Madrid, started. This, for the second leg and final round of the 2012 British Championships.
Breaking the journey twice, once in Leucate, south of France to meet paragliding history Guru, John Pendry at his Kite School and Bar/Resto on the beach, the other stop just south of Madrid, the entire journey opened up to some awesome scenery and soaring temperatures reaching a height of 41degrees at 5pm in central Spain. Never could I imagine that this country had such barren and uninhabited areas with roads stretching for straight kilometres through arid desert-like landscapes.
The friendly Motel just south of Madrid where we stopped was a welcome just before nightfall. A light dinner watching the European Football semi-final between Germany vs. Italy sealed the end to a tiring but exciting day...
