Pedro Bernardo 2012 - 3rd July - Task 2

We have a task. For the first ime the pilots were asked to chose between a longer more challenging task to Arcones which would involve long retrieves and some safety issues to do with lack of radio contact, or a 78km task using the valley and the mountain ridge behind us. Pilots opted for plan B sensibly avoiding also the possibility of wiping out tomorrow as a task day if late retrieves had to happen with plan A.
Conditions were rough with strong winds in the valley from the NW and flying backwards on landing was. It an option. The leaders managed to stay high in the cooler airmass and the first reached goal 4h30 later. First in was Emile, followed by John Ellison, Ronnie Geissen, Adrian Thomas, Steve Senior, and first woman In goal, Claudia B.
More tomorrow.....
